About the Asatru Faith

Have you ever wanted to learn more about the Asatru faith?

Keeper of Seasons Hall is an independent religious group based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our goal is to honor the Gods and Goddesses through a deep understanding of the culture and religion of Nordic and German peoples. We achieve this understanding through study, practice, and our regular meetings.

“Asatru” as a word translates into English as “faith in the gods.” It is most commonly used to reference the contemporary revival of pre-Christian Germanic and Nordic faiths. Asatru is polytheistic meaning that it has multiple Gods and Goddesses. Asatru is open to everyone regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or any other criteria. Anyone who is interested in Asatru can explore the religion.

The Asatru faith is a part of our everyday world. We strive to explore the ways in which this ancient faith is still alive in our world today. One of the best examples of this is in the days of the week. For example, Wednesday derives from Woden’s (Odin) Day and Thursday is the modern phrasing of Thor’s Day. The cultural influence of the pre-Christian Germanic and Nordic peoples can still be felt today. Exploring Asatru is one way of understanding our shared world.

While Asatru has a strong focus on individual spiritual practice, Keeper of Seasons Hall is a group that comes together. These groups have various names including Kindreds, Hearths, and Halls.
