For our July meeting we will be finishing "The Well and the Tree: World and Time in Early Germanic Culture " by Paul C. Bauschatz. We will pick up where we left off last time starting our reading with the section titled: "Beowulf and the Nature of Events" and read/discuss through to the end. As always, if anyone is lacking the reading material and having difficulty acquiring it, please let me know and I will gladly assist. We will aim to meet at Snow Park (9501 Indian School Rd NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87112) on the 2nd Sunday of the month (7/12/2020) with the primary discussion / public portion of the meeting starting around 5:30 PM.

What a nice evening! As per usual, my well is refilled! Thanks for the lovely fellowship, y'all. Love you all. Happy birthday again, Debbie! ❤😘
Was good to see everyone. Thank you all for sharing your food, thoughts, and insight. These turned out about as well as you might expect a phone picture to turn out, but I figured I'd share them anyways:
There's a decent chance of thunderstorms (like around 30-40%, depending on which service I look at) this afternoon. Please be prepared for a possible Albuquerque summer shower!
Want to make sure this is on everyone's radar: https://www.newmexico.gov/2020/07/09/state-to-re-enact-certain-public-health-restrictions/ It shouldn't affect this month's meeting, but if things continue to move in their current direction, there's a good possibility it'll affect other meetings later this year.
If we end up doing the park thing I may or may not be able to join you guys, but go for whatever works for everybody.
That's why I suggested Snow Park. It's pretty quiet and in a neighborhood. I don't recommend anything by the river because then, as Brad reminded me, we would have insects galore to contend with. Yuck.
I think an outdoor meeting would work....I like the idea of being our own chairs or blankets, too.
I just had a meeting with coworkers and bosses at a park underneath a tree. Everyone socially distanced and brought their own blankets and chairs. It worked well! I don't see why it wouldn't work for this meeting :)
There's a park near us in the heights called Snow Park. It has a very large covered area. We would, however, need to bring our own tables and chairs. Michael and I have two tables we can bring. I am posting this here to open the discussion. Please weigh in. I am also down for a potluck or contributing to takeout of some kind. More than happy to cook. 😊
Ugh. Skype. 😒
