Got this through a Google news alert:

The Asatru Folk Assembly bought a Lutheran church in Murdock, Minnesota (town of a little under 300 people) and plans to make the church into a hof. One of the AFA's board of directors makes the usual "we're not racist, we'd just encourage a black person to go elsewhere" statement the AFA is famous for, while just about everyone else interviewed for the piece says "yep, those guys are white supremacists."
As I've noted, it's actually kind of nice that the AFA has gotten a lot more explicit and overt with their beliefs. They were a lot harder to pin down back in the day. It's also nice that a lot of organizations and individuals are being more careful about making a distinction between the AFA and the rest of the Heathen world.

A lot of stories in my feed today about the city of Murdock and the AFA. Apparently the city council needs to approve a special permit if the AFA is to operate in the church they purchased, and much of the town turned out to encourage the council to not approve the permit. Here are a few of the stories: https://www.wctrib.com/news/government-and-politics/6718955-Murdock-residents-tell-council-to-deny-permit-to-Asatru-Folk-Assembly https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/whites-only-church-eyes-small-town-residents-fears-becoming-hate-n1243538 https://www.fox9.com/news/community-members-fight-against-permit-for-whites-only-pagan-organization-in-western-minnesota
Yeah, that is a lot more explicit then I recall. It's an interesting choice for a location. I'm sure the midwest is full of abandoned churches once you get farther out from the bigger cities. Still it doesn't look that convenient to reach.
Agreed. Glad to see what they are really made of ("We believe that those activities and behaviors supportive of the white family should be encouraged while those activities and behaviors destructive of the white family are to be discouraged.")
I think our household is good with staying away from such national orgs. Good gracious.
