Happy Thorsday! When I come across striking art of the gods, I always want to share it with my fellow heathens, but due to Facebook being available to a huge chunk of my Christian family, I can't really post there. So I thought I'd start a thread for us all to share any Norse art here that we encounter and wish to show everyone. Can't wait to see what you all have to share.

This person's art is incredible. Needed to share with you, my friends. https://www.johanegerkrans.com

Hail Skaði!
"Frej" by Egerkrans
I'm not usually a fan of 3-D character art but this one is exceptional.

"Hlaðgerðr"
I found this on Pinterest with no artist credit. Anyone know? Again, I just love this story of the stranger and his horse building the impossible wall.

This woman's work is brilliant. I recommend visiting her website.

There is so much to look at and like in this one. Freyr is one of my favorite gods.
I was just reading this story again the other day about the stranger who came and built the impenetrable wall and how Loki saved the day by being...well... Loki. :P But I couldn't help but in reading the description of how the wall wouldn't even allow an insect to crawl through it, how similar it is to that very mysterious, unexplained wall in Peru, Sacsayhuamán, where the stones are laid in such a way as no mortar was even necessary; the stones fit together like a perfect puzzle. There are even alien theories surrounding it. "The 1,000-year-old interlocking fortress walls are made of rocks that weigh as much as 360 tons each, and which were carried more than 20 miles before being lifted and fit into place with laser-like precision." [National Geographic]
Pretty dang similar if you ask me...
Just interesting! Don't y'all agree?
Anyway, I liked this illustration of the giant trying to keep his horse from running after the mare. His face!
Warboars are a favorite thing of mine.
Oooo I really love this art style.
For next month's topic: "Njord" by Johan Egerkrans
Goddesses of the North: Freyja by Anna Novikova
With our upcoming discussion, Ragnarok has been on my mind more than usual... "Ragnarok" by Johan Egerkrans
The Emperor from the Vikings Tarot by Manfredi Toraldo and Sergio Tisselli Very much like their use of Ullr as The Emperor.
Freyja by Francesca Resta
Tyr and Fenrir by Moerin
Yeah!
Njord, God of the Sea by Emiroth This is pretty different from how I usually picture Njorðr, which I think is part of why it appeals to me. I particularly like the bioluminescence with the hints of scales and flowing water.
Balder by Moerin. Kind of relates to our most recent Hall discussion, and I very much like the detail of Balder's right foot being placed on the Snaptun stone.
Promotional illustration for Gods of Asgard. Those of you familiar with Dr. Karl Seigfried's Norse Mythology Blog will probably recognize Evensen's depiction of Skadi :)
Ratatosk by Leroks
Gullveig.
Seidhr by Marc Potts
Freya
Ratatosk by Daniel Mackie
Ratatoskr by Sea Whisper
I've had a crazy busy day but I still wanted to sneak up in here and drop some art. Hope everyone is doing well in their day-to-day lives. 😊

"Ullr" by Sam Flegal
Yggdrasil Ratatosk by Rampant-Dreamer
I enjoy it, I just don't have a consistent source of heathen art I like, so I can't contribute at the same pace.
Am I the only appreciator of art 'round here? 😂 Well, no worries. I'm an artist and have a deep love for art, all kinds. I can keep sharing plenty of it till y'all get sick of me. 😅
Have a lovely weekend, friends.
A wonderful sketch of Odin
